What is metadata?

Image metadata (like EXIF) can include device model, timestamps, and sometimes location data.

Why remove EXIF?

Removing metadata helps reduce accidental data leakage when sharing images publicly or with unknown parties.

Privacy risks

Location/device metadata can expose personal context about where an image was taken and what device created it.

Metadata removal is strongest for JPG/JPEG EXIF data. PNG may contain different metadata chunks and results can vary by source image.

This tool strips image metadata locally in your browser so you can share images with less privacy exposure.
